His Excellency President Adama Barrow on Wednesday, 20th August receive in audience at State House, members of the National Hajj Commission.
The delegation was accompanied to State House by Honourable Hamat Bah, minister of Lands, Regional Government and Religious Affairs; and Mr Lang Yabo, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad.
After their audience with the President, Imam Ebrima Jarju, informed the press that the meeting was about the recently concluded Hajj activities, in which they briefed the President on the outcome, as well as preparations and plan for the upcoming Hajj.
The Hajj was conducted smoothly and peacefully. “We have started preparations for the next hajj today. Thursday, 21st August the first payment for the Hajj should arrive in Mecca. If it does not, The Gambia will be late for the Hajj, which can be very difficult,” Imam Jarju remarked.
The Imam therefore called on intending pilgrims to make your payment as soon as possible.
