The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, the Education ministry has scheduled to release the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results on Monday, November 16th 2020. The release of the WASSCE results next week is coming about a month after that of Gambia Basic Education Certificate Examinations was announced, which saw, generally, impressive performances by the students who sat to the exams.
The Monday announcement is set to be held at the Regional Education Directorate in Kanifing and will take the form of a press briefing at 10am prompt, and the media houses are invited to cover the event.
Gambian schools were all reopened by October 28th following their six months’ closure due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Experts say this disruption of the education system is likely to have serious consequences but the education authorities said they have put up strategies to minimize the impact.
