Senegambia Cup 2026 Set to Ignite Volleyball Action in Banjul

The stage is set for an electrifying week of volleyball as the 7th edition of the Senegambia Cup gets underway from May 13 to 18, 2026, at the Independence Stadium.

The tournament will bring together top club sides from The Gambia and Senegal in a showcase of skill, rivalry and regional unity.

Organisers have confirmed that participating teams will arrive on Wednesday, May 13, ahead of a technical meeting scheduled for 7:00 PM later that evening. The competition will officially begin the following day.

Indoor matches will be played on May 14, 15 and 17 at Independence Stadium, with fans expected to witness high-intensity encounters. The action will shift to the coast on May 16 for beach volleyball fixtures at Fajara Beach, providing a vibrant setting for players and spectators alike.

This year’s edition features a strong lineup of clubs. Senegal will be represented by SOCOCIM and AS Police in the women’s category, while US EPT and Santhiaba VBC will compete in the men’s division. Hosts The Gambia will field GAF and Police in the women’s bracket, with GAF and YMCA featuring in the men’s competition.

The Senegambia Cup has grown into one of the region’s premier volleyball tournaments, strengthening cross-border sporting ties while promoting the development of the game.

With a mix of experienced sides and emerging talent, the 2026 edition is expected to deliver thrilling matches and memorable moments for fans across the sub-region.
