GTBoard Celebrates Minister Jobe for his Prestigious Global Award

The top management of The Gambia Tourism Board, led by Director General Mrs. Ida Jeng-Njie, recently paid a courtesy call on Honourable Abdoulie Jobe, Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture. The visit celebrated Minister Jobe’s recent recognition as the World’s “Best Minister” 2026 by the World Government Summit in Dubai.

The delegation’s visit was aimed at conveying messages of solidarity and appreciation for the Minister’s exemplary guidance and leadership in the tourism sector.

On receiving the team, Minister Jobe posited that the award is not solely his; that it belongs to the entire nation. He expressed gratitude to the organisers and noted that the recognition marks a positive step forward for Destination Gambia.

Minister Jobe also highlighted the importance of teamwork and respect for authority as essential drivers to position The Gambia as a premier tourist destination.

The Minister was selected from a shortlist of ten ministers for his outstanding ability to translate policy into tangible results, drive innovation, and deliver measurable social impact.

The award honuors leaders whose initiatives are scalable internationally and inspire governments worldwide to enhance public service delivery through advanced technologies and digital solutions.
