The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) has officially appointed Ebrima Jeffang as Chef de Mission (CDM) for the upcoming Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal.
The appointment marks an important milestone in The Gambia’s early preparations for the global youth sporting event, which is expected to bring together thousands of young athletes from across the world. In his role, Jeffang will oversee Team Gambia’s participation, ensuring effective coordination, athlete welfare, logistical arrangements, and overall team performance throughout the Games.
A seasoned sports administrator and second vice president of the Gambia Handball Association, Jeffang is expected to bring strong leadership, experience, and strategic direction to the position. His selection reflects the GNOC’s confidence in his ability to guide and support young Gambian athletes at one of the most significant stages of their sporting careers.
The Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games will be the first edition of the event to be hosted on African soil, marking a historic moment for the continent.
With preparations now underway, the GNOC has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring Team Gambia is well-prepared, competitive, and ready to represent the nation with pride at Dakar 2026.
