The governing body of The Gambia Tourism and Hospitality Institute (GTHI), on Friday, 9th May 2025, paid a courtesy call on Honorable Abdoulie Jobe, Minister ofTourism, Arts and Culture, in Banjul.
During their discussion, the Honourable Minister emphasised the importance of continuity and representation in Board meetings, stating the need for government officials and private sector representatives to attend Board meetings.
The new Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Amie Njie-Joof, was formally introduced to the Board, highlighting her inclusive approach and commitment to teamwork.
Additionally, the new Deputy Permanent Secretary-Technical, Mr. Siaka Fadera, a former staff member of the National Centre for Arts and Culture, was also introduced to the Board by Minister Jobe.
Key issues discussed during the meeting included the need for formal communication, adherence to the law, and the development of a board charter.
The board was encouraged to present innovative ideas and seek support from external partners. The meeting concluded with a commitment to improve service delivery, training, and procurement processes.
