His Excellency, President Barrow, last week received a delegation from the Gambia Hotel Association, which was on a courtesy visit at the State House in Banjul.
The meeting was meant for the team to express appreciation to the government for its contributions to the tourism industry and to highlight key challenges and the support needed from the government.
Sharing the delegation’s views, Mr Malleh Sallah commended President Barrow and his government, highlighting key developments, including the OIC road projects and stable electricity supply, as factors that positively impacted the tourism sector. He further expressed the delegation’s belief that The Gambia could reach its full potential if the government supported the industry by implementing impactful ideas they have to improve livelihoods and foster economic growth.
Mr. Sallah expressed gratitude to the Minister of Tourism, Hon. Abdoulie Jobe, for his meticulous nature and open-door policy. While he implored all Gambians to protect the industry, he asserted their commitment to taking necessary steps toward national development.
President Barrow expressed delight at the meeting, as pertinent issues were discussed. He highlighted the need for a continued partnership and commended the private sector for its contributions to national development.
