Gambia to have New Multi-Sport National Stadium

A media release from State House has contained an announcement that the government is planning to construct a youth recreational centre, new national stadium, and other national infrastructure within Lamin.

This was brought to light when a delegation from Lamin community visited President Adama Barrow at State House last week. Aside the recreational centre and the new stadium, Lamin women will have a garden, new road and other national infrastructure.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Secretary General of Lamin Village Development Committee, Alagie Yusupha Gomez, thanked President Barrow for the opportunity to discuss these important issues and requested presidential support for the construction of youth recreational centre to promote a healthy community. He assured the President of their strong support for the government’s development plans.

In his remarks, President Barrow praised the Kombo Lamin representatives for their support and affirmed his government’s plan for a multi-sport national stadium in Lamin. He urged the community to align their local initiatives with government policies. The President pledged his government’s support for the Lamin women’s garden to help them maximise their produce and prevent animal intrusion.

The delegation expressed their gratitude to President Barrow and his government for their commitment to collaborating with them for national advancement.
