The community of Nyakoi Kerewan was alive with excitement on Friday  as Dumboto Football Club emerged victorious in the Hon. Mai Ahmad Fatty’s sponsored league, securing a commanding 3–1 win over Faradala FC in a thrilling final.

Football fans from across the Nyakoi area crowded the field hours before kickoff, eager to witness what became one of the most electrifying matches of the tournament. Dumboto set the tone early, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to score the first goal. Faradala fought back bravely, finding an equalizer that reignited the contest and sent supporters into loud celebration.

However, Dumboto returned from the break with renewed firepower. A spectacular long-range effort restored their lead before a well-executed team move sealed the third goal, putting the final beyond Faradala’s reach and securing Dumboto’s place as champions.

The grand finale was graced by several key dignitaries, including Governor of the North Bank Region, Hon. Samba Bah, and National Assembly Member for Wuli West, Hon. Famara Sabally, whose presence added prestige to the event. Both officials commended the teams for their discipline and the organizers for promoting unity through sports.

In his remarks, league sponsor Hon. Mai Ahmad Fatty congratulated the champions and applauded all participating teams for their commitment and sportsmanship. He emphasised the role of grassroots football in nurturing youthful talent and strengthening community cohesion.
