Baba F. Trawally, Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, has cautioned parents to remain vigilant in monitoring their children, emphasising that drug use is a pathway to destruction not only for young people but for society as a whole. He stressed that the lives of the youth are in grave danger and urged collective action to safeguard their future.

He urged parents to provide steadfast guidance and close supervision to their children in the fight against drug use, warning that vigilance is crucial to protect the youth and the future of society.

The Amir went on to caution parents to ignite a sense of responsibility toward their children, emphasising the need for active involvement in guiding and protecting them from harmful influences.

“Parents should always endeavour to contact the appropriate authorities if they observe any signs of abnormal behaviour in young people related to drug use. They are also encouraged to provide proper training and guidance to their children, ensuring they consistently monitor their internet usage and the websites they visit”, he said.

Mr Trawally advised the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat to remain steadfast in their worship and prayers, and to uphold their responsibilities as Muslims by continually promoting the cause of God and the message of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

He emphasised the importance of modesty and urged the general public, including members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, to continue instilling strong moral values in their children, particularly regarding their manner of dressing. He stressed that children should be properly covered, highlighting that modesty holds great significance in their upbringing and faith.

For his part, Alagie Bai Secka, Bilal of King Fahat Mosque in Banjul, praised the Ahmadiyya community for their obedience and unwavering adherence to the instructions and regulations surrounding Islamic events and activities. He acknowledged that they are consistently at the forefront of promoting Islam and fostering peace among people.

Mr. Bai Secka advised the public to always strive to love one another, promote peace and tranquillity, and avoid fostering conflict or inciting violence, particularly within the Islamic faith.
